About

Who WE Are

KALUMA is a The Hague-based design studio redefining waste by transforming discarded materials into beautiful, functional objects.

Founded in 2025 by industrial design engineer Greta Marie Tilebein, KALUMA sits at the intersection of sustainability, craftsmanship, and accessible design. Our work focuses on giving waste a second life, without compromising on aesthetics, quality, or affordability.

What we stand for

Our approach is rooted in circular design: reusing existing materials, reducing environmental impact, and creating products that are made to last. We design with intention: every object should serve a purpose, tell a story, and contribute to a more sustainable way of living.

We also believe sustainable design should be accessible. By positioning our products within the price range of mass-produced alternatives, we make eco-conscious choices easier for more people.

OUR APPROACH

We work with reclaimed elements, get inspired by the world around us and combine them with eco-conscious components to create something entirely new. This hybrid process allows us to reduce waste while maintaining precision and consistency in design.

Every product is carefully crafted in small batches, balancing experimentation, engineering, and hands-on making. The result is a collection of objects where no two pieces are exactly the same, yet all share the same design philosophy: thoughtful, durable, and sustainable.
