Crafted in the heart of The Hague, VELA is a lighting collection that transforms discarded textiles into refined, functional objects. Developed by KALUMA, the collection is rooted in reducing fabric waste by repurposing locally sourced offcuts and discarded materials.

Each lamp is carefully assembled by hand. Fabrics are taken apart, reworked, and combined with a 3D-printed structure to create balanced, sculptural forms. This process allows even smaller textile remnants to be used, reducing waste while maintaining a high level of detail and finish.

The soft, layered fabric diffuses light evenly, creating a warm and atmospheric glow. Its presence is subtle but defined, working equally well as a single piece or in a grouped arrangement.

VELA explores the relationship between elegance and waste. It highlights the potential of overlooked materials while offering a calm and considered lighting experience.
